If you're here, that means a few things:1. You're looking for a break.

"I am profoundly grateful for the welcoming of my tears -- that was/is a rare and precious gift you've both offered. It was wild and wonderful to not have to hold back in a season of so many hard feelings." J.S.
Rest. Laughter. Release.
Sensitive people and caretakers need more breaks than the average human. Why? Because you give. A LOT. You contain. A LOT. And while maybe you're doing a good job at work or school, or at home, or with kids, your inner story continues, and sometimes you need to be held and contained too. Pack your baggage for a long weekend away from your daily commitments at a truly magical retreat center on Whidbey Island. Take up space, be mad, be sad, express that rage you’ve been carrying around. Crying is not required at Cry Camp, but the more tears, the more merit badges…just sayin’.
Structured loosely around the format of summer camp, together we’ll explore the power of community (yes, even you introverts will have a place!), the magic of being in nature, the impact of creativity, and some emotional science-y things that we think are pretty cool. "I can't remember the last time I fell asleep with grateful tears in my eyes, but I did here. Bethany & Rachel picked the perfect location for such a beautiful retreat full of vulnerability, safety, and a sh*t ton of fun!" |
We’ll share stories, create art, go for walks, take naps, tend to ourselves, and honestly…do a lot of laughing about it all.
Speaking from personal experience, we're pretty certain that you’re already overdue for some self-care time away from home. Partners, kids, work, the day to day drama of being a human during COVID times-it’s taken a toll on all of us. Let this be a sacred time that's already on your calendar to take care of yourself so that you can continue human-ing well as this wild ride of life continues |
"Grateful for you both, for the time spent out in the forest on Whidbey together, and for how you've seen me and and supported me as I continue to unfurl and step into my "fern gully" self" - J.B. Literally everything we have planned is optional, but here a few activities to wet the ol' tear ducts and get you excited:
- swamping & rage release - ceremony around grief - as much alone time as you want - body movement - campfire circle magic - wide open nature - community & shared experience - late night games - arts & crafts - merit badges - incredible meals that you don't have to prep - simple but luxurious cabins- - some goddam peace and quiet We want that too! Work Exchange Cry Camp Ticket (1 available)
We have been to our fair share of retreats that were just out of our price range but called to us non-the-less. We have also been the recipients of work exchange tickets where we offered a bit of sweat equity in order to attend.
There is one space available for a camper who would like to join us in set-up, tear-down and be our right hand as we facilitate this glorious weekend. Tasks may include some lifting (up to 30 pounds) furniture moving (stacked chairs and setting up tables) and a need to drive into town or across campus for errands.
